A Beautiful Wedding at Combermere Abbey | Appleyard Productions
There are some wedding venues that simply seem to have been made for a wedding film, and Combermere Abbey is definitely one of them.
Set amongst the Cheshire countryside, with its historic architecture, beautiful gardens and peaceful surroundings, Combermere Abbey provided the perfect backdrop for a truly memorable wedding day. We were delighted to be there filming the celebrations for Appleyard Productions, capturing all those little moments that can so easily pass by in the excitement of the day.
A Cheshire Wedding to Remember
From the moment we arrived at Combermere Abbey, there was a real sense of anticipation in the air. Weddings always have their own rhythm, but there is something particularly special about filming at a venue with so much character.
The morning preparations gave us plenty of opportunities to capture the atmosphere as everything came together. The excitement, the nerves, the laughter and those quieter moments with family and friends all form such an important part of the story.
For us, wedding videography isn’t just about filming the big moments. Of course, the ceremony, speeches and first dance are important, but it’s often the things happening in between that make a wedding film feel personal.
A quick glance between the couple.
A parent watching their son or daughter get ready.
Friends laughing together when the cameras aren’t the focus.
Those are the moments we love capturing.
Filming a Wedding at Combermere Abbey
Combermere Abbey gives a wedding videographer so much to work with.
The historic surroundings create an incredible sense of occasion, while the grounds provide plenty of opportunities for more relaxed and natural footage. As the day progresses and the light changes, the venue takes on a completely different feel, which is perfect for creating a wedding film with a real sense of progression.
We always try to work as unobtrusively as possible. A wedding day isn’t a film set, and our job is never to make the couple feel like they’re constantly performing for the camera.
Instead, we want to be there without getting in the way.
That approach allows us to capture genuine reactions and interactions as they happen naturally.
The Ceremony
The ceremony is, of course, at the heart of the wedding day.
There is something incredibly rewarding about filming the moment everything comes together after months of planning. The anticipation beforehand, the entrance, the reactions of family and friends and, finally, seeing the couple officially become husband and wife.
These are the moments that will hopefully become even more meaningful as the years go by.
A wedding film gives couples the chance to relive not only what happened, but how it felt.
From the Speeches to the Dance Floor
Once the formalities were over, the atmosphere changed completely.
The speeches brought plenty of emotion, laughter and a few stories that will probably be repeated for years to come. These moments are a big part of why professional wedding videography is so valuable. A photograph can capture a reaction, but video allows you to hear the voices, the laughter and the words spoken by the people who mean the most.
And then, naturally, came the celebrations.
As the evening got underway, the dance floor provided plenty of energy and some fantastic moments to capture. It’s often at this point in the day that couples and their guests completely relax, making it the perfect opportunity for natural, candid footage.
Why We Love Wedding Videography at Combermere Abbey
Every wedding we film is different, and that’s one of the things we love most about what we do.
Combermere Abbey is particularly special because it combines everything we look for in a wedding venue: beautiful surroundings, incredible architecture, space for the day to unfold naturally and countless opportunities for cinematic footage.
For a Cheshire wedding videographer, it’s a fantastic setting.
But ultimately, it’s the people who make the wedding film.
The venue provides the backdrop, but the couple, their families and their friends provide the story.
Your Wedding at Combermere Abbey
If you’re planning your wedding at Combermere Abbey and are looking for a wedding videographer in Cheshire, we’d love to hear from you.
At Appleyard Productions, our aim is to create wedding films that feel natural, emotional and completely personal to each couple. We don’t want you to simply remember how your wedding looked — we want you to be able to hear it, feel it and experience those moments all over again.
Because years from now, the flowers will have faded, the table decorations will be long gone and the day itself will feel like it passed in the blink of an eye.
Your wedding film will still be there.
And that’s why we love what we do.
