Ashfield House

Ashfield House Wedding | Wigan Wedding Videography by Appleyard Productions

There’s something incredibly special about a wedding at Ashfield House. Tucked away in the Lancashire countryside, this beautiful wedding venue combines character, elegance and stunning surroundings, making it an incredible setting for a wedding day – and an even better backdrop for a wedding film.

We recently had the pleasure of capturing a beautiful wedding at Ashfield House in Wigan, documenting everything from the excitement and emotion of the morning through to the celebrations in the evening.

For us at Appleyard Productions, wedding videography is about far more than simply recording the events of the day. It’s about capturing the atmosphere, the personalities, the little moments and all the emotions that can be difficult to put into words.

And this Ashfield House wedding had plenty of those moments.

Ashfield House – a beautiful wedding venue in Wigan

If you’re looking for a wedding venue in Wigan or Lancashire, Ashfield House is a venue that really stands out.

Surrounded by beautiful countryside, Ashfield House offers a wonderful combination of historic character and elegant wedding spaces. From the moment you arrive, there’s a sense that you’re somewhere a little bit special.

For wedding videographers, venues with character like this are fantastic to work with. There are so many different settings throughout the day, meaning your wedding film can naturally change in atmosphere as the celebrations progress.

The architecture and grounds provide a beautiful backdrop for establishing shots, while the interior spaces create a much more intimate feel for capturing the quieter moments between the couple, their family and friends.

It’s this combination that makes Ashfield House wedding videography such an enjoyable experience.

Capturing the atmosphere of an Ashfield House wedding

Every wedding has its own personality.

Some days are calm and intimate, while others are full of energy from the moment guests arrive until the last song of the night. The beauty of wedding filmmaking is being able to capture that personality and turn it into something couples can revisit for years to come.

Our approach at Appleyard Productions is deliberately natural and unobtrusive.

We don’t want you spending your wedding day worrying about where the camera is or feeling like you need to perform for it. Instead, we let the day happen naturally around us.

That means we’re there for the big moments – the ceremony, speeches, confetti, first dance and celebrations – but we’re equally interested in everything happening around them.

The nervous smiles before walking down the aisle.

The reaction of a parent seeing their son or daughter in their wedding outfit for the first time.

Friends laughing together during the drinks reception.

A quiet moment between the newlyweds when they think nobody is watching.

These are the moments that can easily disappear from memory, but they are often the moments couples treasure most when they watch their wedding film back.

The perfect setting for wedding photography and videography

One of the biggest advantages of choosing Ashfield House as your wedding venue is the variety it offers.

The surrounding grounds provide plenty of opportunities for natural and cinematic footage throughout the day. Rather than spending hours posing for the camera, couples can simply enjoy some time together while we capture those moments as naturally as possible.

The countryside setting also gives us the opportunity to create those wider cinematic shots that help tell the story of the day.

We love using the surroundings to establish a sense of place within a wedding film. When you watch your film years later, it’s not just about remembering who was there – it’s about remembering where you were, what the day looked like and how everything felt.

Ashfield House provides plenty of those visual details.

From the exterior of the venue to the gardens and surrounding landscape, there are so many opportunities to create beautiful footage without taking attention away from the couple themselves.

From the ceremony to the celebrations

Of course, the heart of every wedding film is the ceremony.

There’s always a unique sense of anticipation in the moments leading up to it. Guests are taking their seats, the final preparations are happening and, somewhere behind the scenes, the couple are getting ready to see each other.

Once the ceremony begins, everything seems to slow down.

The vows, the laughter, the emotion and those first moments as a newly married couple are all incredibly important parts of the story.

As wedding videographers, we’re there to capture these moments discreetly, making sure the film reflects the genuine emotion of the day rather than making it feel staged.

Then comes the part where everyone can relax.

The formalities begin to disappear, drinks are enjoyed, conversations get louder and the dance floor eventually becomes the centre of attention.

This change in atmosphere is something we love incorporating into our films. A wedding day can have so many different chapters, and the film should take you through all of them.

Why cinematic wedding videography matters

Your wedding day goes incredibly quickly.

After months – sometimes years – of planning, everything can be over in a matter of hours.

You’ll remember plenty of it, but you won’t see everything.

While you’re speaking to one group of friends, something funny might be happening on the other side of the room. While you’re having photographs taken, your guests might be enjoying themselves elsewhere. And while you’re getting ready, your partner is experiencing an entirely different part of the day.

That’s why we believe wedding videography is so valuable.

A great wedding film allows you to experience those moments that you missed as well as relive the ones you remember.

And unlike a photograph, a wedding film brings movement, sound and voices back into the memory.

You can hear your vows again.

You can hear your friends laughing.

You can listen to the speeches.

You can see the way someone looked at you.

You can hear the music that filled the room.

Those details are what make a wedding film so much more than a collection of clips.

Wedding videography at Ashfield House

Ashfield House is the kind of venue that naturally lends itself to a cinematic wedding film.

The combination of beautiful architecture, countryside surroundings, elegant interiors and outdoor spaces gives us plenty of opportunities to tell the story of a wedding from beginning to end.

As a Wigan wedding videographer, we’re lucky to work at some fantastic venues across the North West, and Ashfield House is a particularly enjoyable setting to film.

There’s a real sense of character to the venue, while the surrounding landscape provides the space and natural beauty needed to create a film that feels expansive and cinematic.

Most importantly, the venue allows the wedding itself to remain the focus.

The surroundings are beautiful, but they’re there to complement the couple and their story.

Creating your Ashfield House wedding film

At Appleyard Productions, we don’t believe every wedding film should look the same.

Your wedding isn’t a production. It’s a day that’s completely unique to you, your relationship and the people you’ve chosen to share it with.

That’s why our wedding videography style is natural, cinematic and discreet.

We want you to spend your wedding day enjoying yourselves rather than worrying about the camera. We’ll be there to capture the moments as they happen, allowing the finished film to feel authentic to you.

Whether it’s a small glance between the newlyweds, a huge reaction during the speeches or everyone dancing together at the end of the night, we’ll be looking for the moments that tell your story.
