From a DJ set outside in the gardens to live music into the early hours, Bryony & Joe planned an incredible wedding day at Styal Lodge, surrounded by the people they love most.
It was the kind of wedding that had everything – a beautiful Cheshire countryside setting, plenty of laughter, emotional moments, incredible music and a party that carried on long into the night. For us at Appleyard Productions, it was an absolute pleasure to capture it all on film.

One of the things we particularly love about filming weddings at Styal Lodge is the amount of natural light. The large windows allow the outside surroundings to become part of the venue, creating bright, airy footage throughout the day.

Capturing Bryony & Joe’s wedding day
From the very beginning, Bryony & Joe’s wedding had a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere.
Surrounded by family and friends, the day was filled with those small moments that make a wedding personal. The excitement, the nerves, the laughter and all the interactions between the couple and their guests provided plenty for us to capture.
Our approach at Appleyard Productions is always to be as discreet and unobtrusive as possible. We don’t want couples to feel like they’re performing for a camera. Instead, we want to capture the day as it genuinely happens.
That means documenting the big moments, of course, but also the things happening in between – a quick glance, a hug from a family member, friends laughing together or a moment the couple might otherwise have missed.

The surrounding greenery and beautiful gardens provide a stunning backdrop for the couple to spend some time together away from the main celebrations. There’s also plenty of space to capture the atmosphere of the wedding as a whole, particularly when guests begin enjoying the outdoor areas.
And on a beautiful summer’s day, the combination of blue skies, natural greenery and warm sunlight gives the footage a wonderfully cinematic quality.
For Bryony & Joe, the gardens became an important part of the celebrations, with a DJ set taking the party outside.
It was one of those moments that perfectly captured the atmosphere of the day – relaxed, fun and completely centred around enjoying time with their favourite people.

As the evening went on, the celebrations didn’t slow down.
The outdoor DJ set gave way to live music, keeping the energy going well into the early hours. For us, this was one of the most exciting parts of the day to film.
There’s something about live music at a wedding that translates incredibly well into a wedding film. The atmosphere, the movement, the reactions from guests and the energy of the couple all come together to create footage that feels alive.
Rather than simply recording what happened, our aim is to capture that atmosphere so that when Bryony & Joe watch their film in years to come, they can remember exactly what it felt like to be there.
