Set amongst the rolling Cheshire countryside, this spectacular medieval castle provided the perfect backdrop for a truly unforgettable wedding day. From the grand architecture and sweeping grounds to the quiet, intimate moments shared between the couple, every part of the day had its own story to tell.
For us at Appleyard Productions, filming a wedding like this is all about capturing those moments as naturally and beautifully as possible — the laughter, the happy tears, the nervous anticipation and all the little details that make the day uniquely yours.
A Magical Peckforton Castle Wedding
From the moment we arrived at Peckforton Castle, there was a real sense of excitement in the air.
The castle itself is an incredible setting for a wedding. Its dramatic stone walls, grand rooms and beautiful grounds create a cinematic atmosphere that lends itself perfectly to wedding filmmaking. As the preparations began, there was a wonderful mixture of anticipation and excitement as everyone prepared for the celebrations ahead.
One of our favourite things about wedding films is being able to capture the atmosphere of the morning — the little conversations, the laughter with friends and family, the final preparations and those fleeting moments of calm before everything begins.
These are the moments that can be easily missed on the day, but when you watch your wedding film years later, they become incredibly precious.
The Ceremony
As the ceremony approached, the excitement grew.
With Peckforton Castle as the backdrop, the couple’s ceremony was every bit as beautiful and emotional as you would expect from a fairytale wedding.
There is something incredibly special about filming the moment a couple sees each other for the first time on their wedding day. It’s a moment that cannot be recreated, and capturing that genuine reaction is one of the reasons we love what we do.
From the walk down the aisle to the vows, laughter and tears, we discreetly captured the atmosphere without taking the couple away from the experience of their day.

A Stunning Setting for Wedding Filmmaking
Peckforton Castle gave us an incredible canvas to work with.
The combination of historic architecture, beautiful countryside and atmospheric interiors created endless opportunities for cinematic footage. From sweeping exterior shots of the castle to intimate portraits and candid moments throughout the celebrations, every part of the venue added something to the story.
As the day moved into the evening, the atmosphere changed completely. The excitement of the ceremony gave way to celebrations, laughter and dancing, creating some brilliant energy for us to capture on film.
And as the evening drew to a close, the castle looked just as magical under the evening sky as it had earlier in the day.
